We’re open seven days a week for both the general public and trade customers.
About the Bowler Hat
Our founders have a love of the horticultural excellence of Victorian and Edwardian gardeners who were responsible for some of the most outstanding gardens in the world.
So for us at Garden Sage, the Bowler Hat and the leather aprons we wear around the nursery are a nod to their brilliance.

As two horticulturists with a desire to provide high quality plants to the general public and the 'trade' Garden Sage Nurseries opened in Sussex in March 2016. Our aim was to provide knowledgeable gardeners, complete novices and everyone in between with good advice, unusual and fun plants as well as the staples that make a garden work.
The nursery is still run by founder Ed Nugent who has worked in retail and wholesale nurseries since he was 16.
He is supported by an amazing team of horticulture enthusiasts who spend their days nurturing plants and answering customer questions about all things plant related.
Ed is not a man to boast about his achievements but we think its worth mentioning that he has grown plants for Gold-winning Chelsea gardens.
